THINGS ARE HAPPENING!
According to a number of reports, including NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are trading left tackle Russell Okung to the Carolina Panthers in return for offensive guard Trai Turner.
The deal is tentatively agreed to and is expected to be processed at the start of the league year: The #Chargers are trading LT Russell Okung to the #Panthers in exchange for standout OL Trai Turner, sources say. A swap of big-time OLs. Nothing is final until it’s official.

The trade means Okung will be reunited with his former offensive line coach in Pat Meyer while the Chargers receive a young standout along the interior of the offensive. Okung was reportedly frustrated with the team and their plans for the future so it looks like he got what he wanted if this were true.
Turner was most recently voted to his fifth-straight Pro Bowl and is only 26-years old. He was a former third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2014 and has been a steady presence his entire career. The new guard brings an extremely athletic profile to the interior of the Chargers who should be able to enhance the Bolts’ power run game. At the 2014 NFL Combine, Turner ran a 4.84 forty-yard dash at 310 pounds.
