Well, Melvin Gordon finally got “a” deal, but not necessarily the one he probably wanted when he held out for the first month of the 2019 season.
According to Ian Rapoport, the former Chargers back is signing a two-year deal with the Broncos worth $16 million with $13.5 million guaranteed. If you recall, Gordon turned down an offer from the Chargers last year that would have paid him around $10 million per year on average.
Melvin Gordon had a better offer from another team, but the lure of playing in the same division as the #Chargers, that appealed to him. https://t.co/ZX9KZ4nvkc

Gordon is sticking around the AFC West and will get the opportunity to play the Chargers now twice a year in what should be a game many fans will circle on their calendars. He joins a backfield that currently includes Phillip Lindsay, so he’s essentially leaving one backfield that he shared with a former UDFA from the state of Colorado to go play in another with a former UDFA from the state of Colorado.
I love it when things just come full circle.
