NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Philip Rivers have been in contact and that the former Chargers QB is a “clear target” for them. Rivers has been heavily connected to the Colts ever since him and the Bolts parted ways
The #Colts have had discussions with free agent QB Philip Rivers, source said. And while nothing is done, he’s a clear target for Indy. We shall see if they can agree on the money.

Indy currently has two former Chargers offensive coordinators on their team in head coach Frank Reich and current OC Nick Sirianni so there would be a ton of familiarity from the jump and that’s the biggest you need when bringing in a veteran who has, up to this point, played his entire career with one team.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a deal get done by the end of this week. If the Rivers domino falls, I would expect the rest of the free agent quarterback class to follow suit in hasty fashion.
