The NFL officially released their statement announcing that the 2020 NFL Draft will go on as planned during the days of April 23rd-25th. The draft will obviously no longer be in Las Vegas but they still plan of having it nationally broadcasted. The league is currently “exploring innovative options for how the process will be conducted” and will provide necessary information as they acquire it.

Here’s Roger Goodell’s statement:

“This decision reflects our foremost priority — the health and safety of all fans and citizens. While this outcome is disappointing both to the NFL and to the Las Vegas community, we look forward to partnering with the Raiders, the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for a future NFL Draft as well as evaluating opportunities for other major NFL events in Las Vegas in the future, including the Super Bowl.”

This is good news for all of us fans knowing that this whole virus crisis won’t totally postpone and cancel everything we have been waiting for over the next two months. While it’s not going to be nearly the same, it’s something and I’m incredibly thankful for that.
