Per Ian Rapoport, the Chargers will be placing the franchise tag on tight end Hunter Henry. According to CBS Sports’ Joel Corry, the franchise tag for tight ends in 2020 will be worth between $10.5 million-$10.8 million.
Sources: The #Chargers have franchise tagged TE Hunter Henry, keeping a key playmaker in the fold for another year.

Chargers fans can now breathe a sigh of relief that the young tight end will be with the team for at least another year as Tom Telesco works to keep one of the best players at their position a part of this franchise for the foreseeable future.
After missing weeks two through five of the 2019 season, Henry finished with 55 catches for 652 yards and five touchdowns. In three seasons in which he’s played at least 12 games, Henry is averaging just under six touchdowns per season.
I don’t expect Henry to play on the tag in 2020 and fully believe the team and him will get something worked out prior to the start of the regular season.
