(Instead of flooding the front page with numerous short articles about prospect meetings, Kenneth and I will simply update this post whenever a new prospect meeting has been confirmed.)

And there it is. Our first juicy piece of “Chargers met with prospect X” news.

The Senior Bowl is one of the first events of the offseason that allows media members to ask draft prospects which teams they’ve met with so we can all start connecting the dots and setting up our cork boards that have way too much red string draped over it.

This bit of news is especially interesting because it pertains to one of the top players at a position the Chargers are vehemently interested in. According to The Athletic’s Daniel Popper, Utah State quarterback Jordan love has confirmed he has already met with the Chargers.

Love is the consensus QB4 in this year’s draft class and could get taken anywhere from low to mid-first round. He’s drawn reviews as Mahomes-esque in that he plays with a gunslingers mentality, but he is still far from a franchise quarterback.

Update 2/26: St. Johns offensive tackle Ben Bartch has said he has a formal interview scheduled with the Chargers.

Bartch may be from a Division III school but he was by-far one of the best offensive tackles while at the Senior Bowl in January. He’s raised his stick as much as anybody in this draft class and a solid performance on the field in Indy would surely raise it some more.

Update 2/27: The Chargers have formally met with Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, according to the media in Indianapolis.

Gallimore measured in at the combine at 6’2 and 304 pounds. He’s one of the more nimble athletes at his position and was the #2 player on Bruce Feldman’s annual “Freak List”. He reportedly can bench press over 500 pounds and can squat over 800. He would be a perfect replacement for Brandon Mebane in the middle of the defense but I don’t he has a chance of falling to the Chargers in the second nor would the Bolts ever consider him with the #6 pick. Still worth keeping an eye on.
