74 players in the AFC that I predict will become cap casualties

After many thousands of words in my previous Cap Casualty previews, I am finally ready to list out every player in the AFC who I have predicted will be cut. I honestly have no idea if this is a high number or a low number because I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an article predicting every cap casualty. It doesn’t seem like too much of a revolutionary idea or anything and perhaps people avoid it because of the amount of work I’ve found it takes or because of the potential for inaccuracy.

God forbid anyone ever goes back and tells you how inaccurate every single mock draft is.

Anyhow, I think it’s important that when you look at available free agents, you know that there’s a whole pool of upcoming free agents who won’t be listed because they haven’t been cut yet. Part of the issue here is also that if you’re being cut, there’s a better than not chance that you aren’t playing that well. But plenty of cap casualties go on to have excellent seasons or careers after the fact. You could be playing well, but you cost too much. You could have had an injury. You could have had an off year. Or you could simply be the victim of circumstance.

Sammy Watkins and Marcell Dareus are considered to be good players but their teams are cash strapped and their cap hits are exorbitant. If they had been playing on the Indianapolis Colts or Tampa Bay Buccaneers, maybe they stick. Given their situations, they likely won’t.

I listed out way more in potential cuts throughout my series (every article of which I’ve listed at the bottom of the page) but these are the guys I’m sticking my neck out for before the guillotine comes down. I’m guessing that these 74 players will be cut. There are some BIG SWINGS in here also. Most names are just kinda boring, so why not add a few swings?

Ordered by position because I think that’s kind of the most important way to order these things.
