Everyone loves a good workout montage. Sylvester Stallone made them famous in his Rocky movies and it’s since motivated millions of people to run up massive flights of stairs in hopes of circling around the top to the inspirational tunes in their headphones.
In the same spirit, running back Austin Ekeler has done his best to create a similar string of videos showcasing why he is widely-known as the strongest pound-for-pound player on the entire Chargers team.
Here are a few examples:

If the plates on either side of the bar are full 45-pounders, then he is squatting 495 pounds in that video.

Could you imagine being strong enough to hoist your body over a pull-up bar and do a muscle-up without even having to swing your legs in the slightest? Woof.
My personal favorites are when he tries to get comical with them. In this one, he’s making knowledge gains just as much as he’s making physical gains.

Ekeler’s elite athletic profile has been one of the biggest themes that has followed him during his first three years in the NFL. He’s only 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, but by-golly can he squat a house and break some tackles.
In the video below, the running backs were having a competition to see who could jump over the highest “pile” at the goal line. Every running back was able to leap over four total bags, but only one was able to top all five. Can you guess who?

After this video was released, it was later made known that only one other running back in recent Chargers memory that was able to jump over five bags. That back, was LaDainian Tomlinson. It’s a nice fun fact and just another small reason why we love the former UDFA so much.
Ekeler posts only a few workout videos on his twitter account (@AustinEkeler) but if you would like to see all of his workout vids, check out his instagram where his name is simply ‘austinekeler’.
