Early on Monday morning, Chargers running back Melvin Gordon shared his thoughts with CBS Sports about where he believes Philip Rivers will play during the 2020 NFL season.
Melvin Gordon to @CBSSports on Philip Rivers: “I think he’ll go to the Colts. I don’t know, that’s just my thought. He has Nick (Sirianni) there, the (OC), he came from here. They run the same playbook, so it’d be easy, he could come right in....That’s probably the best fit.”

Gordon’s thoughts echo a piece I wrote earlier last week where I supported the notion that Rivers should go play with the Colts due to the roster being built the best to support a quarterback such as number 17.
I didn’t mention that Nick Sirianni was the offensive coordinator for the Colts in that article but it only further supports the claim that he would be the best fit. With his former teammates also giving it the thumbs-up, I think it’s a safe bet that the Colts are also doing their due diligence on the matter, as well.
Don’t forget that Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich also spent time as the Chargers offensive coordinator for two years in 2014 and ‘15.
Here’s a video of the conversation so you all can listen for yourselves:
