On Tuesday, it was reported that the Chargers placed second-year offensive tackle Trey Pipkins on the reserve/COVID-19 list. That report was confirmed this morning by Anthony Lynn.
Pipkins is now just one of a handful of player for the Bolts who has been forced to spend time on the COVID-19 list this entire season. Cornerback Brandon Facyson, offensive lineman Ryan Gory, and linebacker Kyzir White have also been on, or are currently still on, the list this season.
Some good news helps balance this announcement out as Lynn told reporters that White will be back at practice today ahead of Sunday’s game against the Falcons. The starting weakside backer has missed the past two weeks against the Bills and Patriots where the defense struggled to stop the run.
In Pipkins’ place, the team will look to Storm Norton to be the team’s depth at both tackle positions while the former third-round pick remains on the COVID-19 list.
