Chargers LAtely Episode 28: This isn’t your father’s Patriots

Not sure what to expect out of this one.

No Tom Brady. No Julian Edelman. No Dont’a Hightower.

This home game against the New England Patriots looks like a pretty feasible win for the Chargers if, ya know, this wasn’t the 2020 Bolts we’ve come to expect on a weekly basis.

Regardless, it’s likely one of the easiest tests they have left on their schedule. The Atlanta Falcons, who they play next week, have been improving over the past few weeks and both the Chiefs and Raiders have winning records through this point of the season.

If the Chargers are going to sneak another win or two out of the 2020 season, this is going to be one of their best chances.

With Justin Herbert just five touchdowns away from breaking Baker Mayfield’s rookie record of 27 passing scores, Herbert will have to make sure he doesn’t hit a road block against a Pats defense that still employs the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Stephon Gilmore.

It’s sure to be a hell of a game, despite maybe lacking in fireworks.

Enjoy the pod and we’ll see you guys on Sunday.
