The day after open thread: What in the world is a ‘winning streak’?

Happy Victory Monday, everyone!

For the first time since the 2018 season, the Chargers have won three games in a row. The last time that happened came a little over two years ago when they were victorious over the Steelers, Bengals, and Chiefs from Weeks 13-15.

Like we’ve heard each of the past three weeks, it wasn’t the prettiest win in the world, but a win is a win. In that same 2018 season, the Bolts played in seven one-score games (decided by eight points or less) and they managed to go 6-1. They have struggled in that facet over the past two seasons, but the last three weeks have shown marked improvement in the ability to do what needs to be done to finish out these tight contests. There’s also been an obvious improvement in special teams since Anthony Lynn took over that unit three weeks ago. No kicks have been blocked, Michael Badgley just made four field goals in a game for the first time since Week 1 of last year, and Nasir Adderley has two huge kick returns, including a 53-yarder on Sunday afternoon.

There’s all of a sudden legitimate reason to believe this team is over the hump and headed in the right direction, but we still won’t know if that will be enough to save Anthony Lynn’s job until that day comes following the season. At this point, I don’t think anything will surprise me. It’s all on the table as far as I’m concerned.

As always, feel free to use this thread to type out your thoughts, vent, or continue to discuss yesterday’s win over the Broncos.
