Ahead of their Week 16 contest with the Broncos, the Chargers open up as early three-point favorites over their divisional rivals, according to the folks at Williams Hill.
Here’s what CBS Sports’ John Breech had to say about the matchup:
“Although the Chargers beat the Raiders in Week 15, that doesn’t erase fact that they’re almost always a bad team to bet on when they’re playing in a divisional game,” says Breech. “Since the start of the 2019 season, the Chargers are 1-9 straight up and 2-7-1 ATS against AFC West opponents. In the past five games played between these two teams, the Chargers have gone 1-4 both straight up and ATS against Denver.”
Similar to how they got revenge against the Raiders, I have a feeling the Bolts will be in a much better headspace ahead of their second game against Denver. Should the Chargers win their third-straight, it would officially give the Bolts an improved record from a year ago.
At the same time, it will also give the Bolts a worse draft pick. The fan base will understandably be torn between the two outcomes, but either way, there will be a silver lining no matter how this season ends.
