That Chargers were this close to “Charger-ing” the game away on Sunday afternoon, but the Bolts secondary recorded a season-high three interceptions of Matt Ryan to thwart any chance Atlanta had at handing them a loss via a seemingly-inevitable Younghoe Koo field goal.

Justin Herbert also registered his first game-winning drive in the fourth quarter of his young career. After a Michael Davis pick, Herbert completed three of his first four passes on the drive to put the Chargers well into field goal range and Michael Badgley did the rest.

For their winning efforts — although it didn’t feel that way after the game — CBS Sports’ John Breech gave the Bolts a solid “B” for their Week 14 performance.

“In a season where the Chargers perfected the art of blowing a second-half lead, they did something smart in this game: They never actually held one until the final play. The Chargers picked off three passes in this game and none of them were bigger than the one by Michael Davis, who set up Michael Badgley’s game-winning field goal when he intercepted Matt Ryan with under 40 seconds left to play. Offensively, Austin Ekeler was a spark for the Chargers offense in just his second game back from injury as he totaled 146 yards (79 rushing, 67 receiving).”

The Chargers have a quick turnaround with a trip to Las Vegas coming up on Thursday night. This team came up short on the final play of the game to lose to the Raiders earlier this year and I expect this game to be another entertaining installment of the long-standing rivalry.
