In the way of a nice break for the Chargers, the defense won’t have to worry about facing one of the Falcons’ best players on Sunday. On Friday morning, Atlanta head coach Raheem Morris told reporters that wide receiver Julio Jones will be held out of this week’s matchup while he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

With Jones out, that leaves Calvin Ridley as the lone notable threat in that passing game. They have a few other receivers who are serviceable, but Jones being out is a big deal for this secondary that has struggled to defend the deep ball at time.

Casey Hayward was upgraded from a limited participant to full on Thursday which means the secondary could be the healthiest they’ve been all season ahead of this contest.

Now for today’s links.
