I don’t know if I expected the Chargers to move up all that much in various power rankings following their takedown of the 0-10 Jets, but a win is a win and those in the media took notice.

In ESPN’s latest rankings, the Bolts moved up two spots, going from #25 to #23.

Herbert has taken the Chargers to a new level and is on pace to set several rookie quarterback records. He has kept fans invested and interested --- even as they started 3-7 — and could ultimately be what draws fans in the Los Angeles market to the Chargers. His 2,699 passing yards have been 99 percent fun to watch. And his new haircut just tops it off. — Shelley Smith

There are six teams behind the Chargers with the same or better record. No matter how many times they continue to lose in dramatic fashion, people can’t seem to quit on this team. At least, not fully. It’ll be interesting to see how long they continue to get the benefit of the doubt over others who have had similar success this season.

But, I’m not complaining.

Now for today’s links.
