On Saturday afternoon, the Chargers announced that they are placing starting linebacker Kyzir White on the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday’s game against the Jets.
White has started every game but one at the team’s weakside (WILL) linebacker position following the injury to Drue Tranquill in Week 1.
The Bolts also promoted a trio of players from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday. The first two are linebackers B.J. Bello and Cole Christiansen. Anthony Lynn said on Friday that those two would be promoted to play special teams after that unit struggled against Miami in Week 10. Both are former undrafted free agents with Christiansen being signed out of West Point following this year’s draft.
Lastly, safety Jaylen Watkins is being promoted with the team’s final open spot for game day. Watkins played for the Chargers in 2019 and was recently re-signed a couple weeks ago. He’ll look to provide a needed spark in a secondary that’s struggled to cause turnovers this season.
we've made roster moves.
