Heading into this Sunday’s contest against the 0-9 Jets, the Chargers may be getting back a number of their key pieces, including two defensive starts.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Bolts have designated both cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and linebacker Asmar Bilal to return off of IR. Harris hasn’t played since the team’s Week 3 game against the Panthers. In his three games played, Harris recorded 15 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and a single pass breakup.

Bilal was signed by the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame following this year’s draft. He was placed on IR with Melvin Ingram and Justin Jones back in Week 3. His return likely provides the Chargers with a boost on special teams, which was his most-likely way to contribute to this team as a rookie.

Harris will return to his role as the team’s starting slot cornerback, moving Tevaughn Campbell back into a reserve role. With Brandon Facyson still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Campbell will remain as key depth in the secondary.
