On Wednesday morning, the NFL and NFL Players Association announced a tentative schedule for the 2021 league calendar. As of now, however, all the dates are currently still open to change at a later date.
The first notable date on the calendar is the end of the 2020/start of the 2021 league year. Right now, it’s set for 4pm on March 17.
Offseason workouts for teams with a new head coach will begin on April 5 while all other clubs will begin on April 19.
Lastly, the 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 1. It will take place roughly a week later in the year than the 2020 draft, which began on April 23 and went through April 25.
The NFL and NFLPA agreed to a tentative 2021 league calendar, which the union sent to agents with a very 2020 caveat: “Please keep in mind that these dates may change.” pic.twitter.com/dzlVDueWlT— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) November 18, 2020
With all the uncertainty that has surrounded the 2020 season, it’s almost refreshing to already see some dates for the NFL for next year. Not that I didn’t expect them, but it’s just great to finally see something tangible for post-2020.
