Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Dolphins, the Chargers made three roster transactions with two of them revolving around the running back room.
For the second straight week, the Bolts are promoting running back Kalen Ballage to the active roster. Last week against the Raiders, Ballage led the team in rushing with 69 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. The Chargers are also promoting defensive back Quenton Meeks who was promoted last week against Las Vegas, as well.
Lastly, the Bolts are making the move to place Justin Jackson on IR with a knee injury. He wound up injured within the first few plays of last week’s game and did not participate in practice this week. This continues an unfortunate string of injuries to begin Jackson’s career as he’s struggled to finish each of his first three seasons healthy. Jackson will be eligible to return in three weeks.
Heading into Sunday, the ground game will be led by Ballage, former UDFA Troymaine Pope, and rookie Joshua Kelley.
