Chargers LAtely Ep. 20: When in doubt, look the way of a UDFA

Guys stepped up like a ‘70s workout video.

I feel like a broken record, but the Chargers showed a number of positives against the Bucs despite the 38-31 loss on Sunday. More specifically, those positives came in the form of three former undrafted free agents - wide receivers Tyron Johnson and Jalen Guyton, as well as tight end Donald Parham.

Herbert didn’t need his veteran pass-catchers for him to throw a career-high three touchdowns against Tampa Bay and their stingy defense. He finished with a very efficient 20-of-25 passes for 290 yards on a day where he wasn’t afraid to throw deep and against pressure.

After this week, I truly won’t be surprised to see guys like Johnson and Parham see more snaps against the Saints. It not be a big bump, but anything is technically better than single-digit snaps.

I hope you guys enjoy the video and this week’s Saints game preview show will be out on Saturday. Go Bolts!
