The Los Angeles Chargers lost another cornerback to injury just a few moments ago which leaves them with two active and available corners on the roster. Desmond King II took a shot to the head after muffing a punt at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Desmond King muffs a punt and got hurt on the play. He was pointing to his head as he walked off the field. He can barely walk on his own. Helped by two trainers into the medical tent. #Chargers

King went into the tent to be examined and when he came out he was without his helmet. It would not appear that he will be able to get back in this game. A few plays later, the Colts appeared to score on a passing play, but the Indianapolis Colts challenged and we are currently awaiting the result of that challenge.
The Chargers are dangerously thin in the secondary after this injury and they are protecting a frighteningly close one-score lead. Backup safety Jaylen Watkins was forced to take over at slot corner, and it’s hard to say what they would do at this point if there were (god forbid) another injury.
UPDATE: King has returned.
Desmond King back in. #Chargers
