Virgil Green Leaves Game Early

Chargers TE leaves game with apparent groin injury, will not return

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Detroit Lions Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Chargers announced that Tight End Virgil Green will not return due to a groin injury.

This leaves only Sean Culkin and Lance Kendricks (who was just signed this week) available for this game. Sean Culkin has seen a good amount of action during his time with the team but we have yet to see what we can expect from Kendricks.

Virgil Green had a big reception early on in this game and has assisted in blocking, which is his forte. His loss could prove to be a big one, both today and should he miss any time. Not sure how the injury happened or if he will miss any time, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.

If this proves to be a serious injury the question that everyone expects will surely be asked many times, involving a certain future hall of fame player that has a bit of a history with the squad.
