Chargers general manager Tom Telesco: The third round debacle - Tyler Schoon
Of his seven selections, Allen is clearly the best player. Though a great grab by Telesco, the only reason he had a chance to select Allen was the red flag of injuries. Ever since then, it’s been a reach. Every single third-round draft pick after Allen has been a reach, which is bizarre considering how patient he can be through the rest of the draft.
Drue Tranquill's strengths were on full display in his first preseason action - Connor Price
The Notre Dame alumnus’ prolific play on Thursday night was his interception that came late in the third quarter, which ended up being his last snap on the field. The opportunity is there for Tranquill as he enters a defense that should compete to be a top unit in the NFL this season.
The most undervalued fantasy football players by round - Daniel Kelley
I went on the record last week with the fact that I’m not dropping Elliott or Gordon in my rankings, and won’t do so until it gets so late in the preseason that I think their Week 1 performances could be affected. I put my money where my mouth is, drafting Gordon in the second in my first draft since everything came down. Just trust in the lengthy track record that says these guys aren’t going to miss significant time and enjoy the profit that comes with taking a top-six back this late.
Recent list correctly ranks Chargers defense as league’s best - Travis Wakeman
The team has a defense that many feel will be elite, but when talking about the league’s best defenses, you’ll still hear teams like the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens and even teams with historically good defenses that may not be so great now, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, talked about first.
