On Friday, the Chargers announced the signing of former Arizona Cardinals and Arizona HotShots offensive tackle Brant Weiss. In a corresponding move, the team waived/injured UDFA offensive tackle Koda Martin, whom they signed out of Syracuse University.
After spending last offseason with the Cardinals, Weiss got the chance to suit up in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football after he was cut prior to the 2018 regular season.
Weiss comes to the Chargers as a former undrafted free agent out of the University of Toledo. As a 6-foot-6, 297-pound tackle, Weiss played in 36 total games for the Rockets. Following his senior season, in which he started all 14 games at right tackle, he was named to the First-Team All-MAC squad. In that season, the Rockets also boasted the top mark in total offense in the conference.
