Breaking: Chargers sign 1st round pick Jerry Tillery

Chargers lock up their top 2019 pick

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers-OTA Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Chargers have signed their 1st round pick DE Jerry Tillery, avoiding any hold out.

Tillery can now focus on football, which is good news for the Chargers. He is recovering from his shoulder procedure but all signs point to him being ready to roll when training camp rolls around.

The Chargers need him to produce quickly so being able to get him on the practice field and keeping all distractions out of his head will be extremely beneficial.

2nd round pick Nassir Adderly and 3rd round pick Trey Pipkins are still unsigned, the big concern there being Adderly although he is recovering from a minor injury and Anthony Lynn said he will likely be out until training camp so that buys a few weeks.

Hopefully everyone is able to get signed before camp starts, but locking down Tillery is good news and a great move as the team ramps up to the start of the season.
