A quality player finds his way to Los Angeles

NCAA Football: Notre Dame at Wake Forest Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

With the 130th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Tom Telesco and the Los Angeles Chargers have selected linebacker Drue Tranquill.

Things really lined up for the Chargers here as several running backs were selected ahead of them and pushed down talent that otherwise would not have been available to them. Tranquill is one of the best coverage linebackers in this year’s draft, arguably the next best after the Devins who went in round 1. Health is a real issue given his history of knee injuries, but he is an impressive athlete.

Tom Telesco apparently loves the high-end athletes, Notre Dame defenders, and guys that played in the Senior Bowl. This Chargers defense just keeps getting bigger, faster, and more versatile. It will be very exciting to see what Gus Bradley can do with this collection of talent.
