Pro Football Focus believes that the Chargers got a steal for the second consecutive year in the draft.

Not a bad player to be compared to either.
Jerry Tillery's #NFL comparison is current Kansas City Chiefs interior defender Chris Jones.

Jones earned an ELITE grade (90.6) which ranked 8th at his position in 2018. pic.twitter.com/0HvAKtTABQ
The media gave solid praise for the Chargers newest defensive tackle.
Really like the Jerry Tillery pick. The ND DT is a bully at the LOS with a bull in a china shop game. He long and physical with very good movement skills. He’s a nice fit in the @Chargers defensive scheme

Chargers selected Notre Dame DT Jerry Tillery with No. 28 pick in this year's draft. The team's most obvious need, the Chargers get the best interior pass rusher still left on the board, and former teammate of Bolts' DE Isaac Rochell at ND.

Jerry Tillery to the Chargers is fantastic. Another long, athletic playmaker to pair with Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram.

I think he has Pro Bowl potential.

I asked Isaac Rochell about his ND teammate @JerryTillery getting mocked to the Chargers back in February: “I know Jerry’s going to definitely fit in our locker room. ... And the biggest thing — not to be understated — is he’s an unbelievable player.”

“Mike Smith mentioned it. Sometimes he disappears, but at other times he’s dominant. I give this an A grade.”@PriscoCBS breaks down Jerry Tillery to the Chargers, and @ryanwilsonCBS agrees it’s a solid choice for LA. pic.twitter.com/1Ayvy7CMFS

Tillery came into the NFL Draft with a very diverse player ranking. But his size, skillset and ability to rush the passer should be a welcome addition to a defense that needed to fill a huge hole along their defensive line.
