It’s no surprise that the interior of the Bolts’ defensive line may look very different come the start of the 2019 season. Brandon Mebane is circling the drain and Corey Liuget hasn’t been much of a contributor over the last two seasons.
It would be in the teams best interest to let the two walk and focus on the younger, more effective defenders that they have waiting in the wings with guys like Darius Philon and Damion Square.
This is a phenomenal draft to go shopping for a plug-and-play starter while possibly getting another piece or two for depth purposes. With a potential run on quarterbacks and edge rushers earlier on day one, there’s a real shot that one of the vert best interior defender could wind-up being available when the Chargers select their guy with the 28th-overall pick.

One of the best stories to come out of #seniorbowl was @WIUfootball DT Khalen Saunders. He’s more physical, powerful, disruptive, and nasty than some interior DL getting first-round hype. His wife gave birth to their baby girl during the week. Checkout his sack celebration! pic.twitter.com/mAfWdvHlqE
