Trent Scott could move inside to guard in 2020

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Chargers Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

The 2019 Los Angeles Chargers had one of the worst offensive lines in the National Football League. A big contributor to that was starting tackle Trent Scott. Bolts head coach Anthony Lynn appears to think that he could potentially be of more value if he were to slide inside to play offensive guard rather than tackle. ESPN’s Eric D. Williams reported via Twitter:

In fairness to Lynn, there is no value to be had in ruling out much of anything about next year when there is still a game left to play this weekend. Lynn electing not to rule out having Scott play at a new position does not mean that Scott will even be a member of the 53-man roster when September 2020 rolls around.

That said, there is not a great deal else going on at this point in the season, so we need to at least consider the possibility that Lynn’s response means something.
