The division-leading Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) will play host to the Los Angeles Chargers (5-10) in the final week of the 2019 NFL regular season. The opening line (per Bovada) has the Chargers as massive 9-point underdogs.
Los Angeles enters the game winless in their division having most recently lost to Jon Gruden’s Raiders to fall to 0-5. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are still riding high after their destruction of the Chicago Bears.
The worst thing that could happen to the Chargers at this point in the season would be for them to somehow scrape out a win against the Chiefs to finish the year at 6-10 rather than 5-11. Losing at Kansas City will significantly improve where the Bolts are choosing in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and there is no upside to winning save for pride (and really, what pride is there to be taken from going 6-10?).
