Today, the Los Angeles Chargers (4-7) travel to Denver to take on the Broncos (3-8) in a game that will help determine which of the two teams finishes the year in last place of the AFC West. Both teams have been disappointments this season, and both are unsettled at the quarterback position. Future Hall of Famer, Philip Rivers, is on the verge of being benched by head coach Anthony Lynn in favor of journeyman veteran Tyrod Taylor, and in Denver Vic Fangio has elected to make the move to rookie signal caller, Drew Lock.
Aside from the quarterback drama, the primary storyline for Los Angeles is the return of defensive backs Adrian Phillips and Derwin James both of whom have missed the vast majority of this season. Their combined absence has certainly contributed to the massively disappointing performance of a Chargers defense that many had high hopes for coming into the season.
