Fresh off their dominating victory of the Green Bay Packers, the Los Angeles Chargers travel to take on the Oakland Raiders in a battle for second place in the AFC West. The Raiders, too, are trying to build off last week’s success as they managed to take down the Detroit Lions.
Among other things, this will be Tyrell Williams’ first opportunity to play against his former team, and one has to imagine he could be a big part of the Raiders’ offensive attack. Rookie Josh Jacobs will likely remain the focal point of the offense, though, especially given the Chargers’ porous run defense.
Offensively for the Chargers, they were largely successful in their first week under new offensive coordinator Shane Steichen. Working on a short week, they will likely attempt to run back most of the same concepts tonight in Oakland. Philip Rivers will continue to benefit from having more time at the line of scrimmage thanks to Steichen actually getting the plays in in a timely manner.
