Last week the Degenerate Gambler was biting his fingers trying to predict a very strong Green Bay team against a then-underperforming Chargers squad. As things would go, he would not have to fret!
As you likely remember, the Degenerate Gambler is a glutton for punishment, and he puts $100 on the line every week on his favorite bets. Sometimes he feels confident about the Chargers, other times he’s rooting for the other team. In any event, he certainly has issues, but don’t we all?
Let’s take a look at his bets last week, and maybe we can also catch a glimpse of his Thursday night special as well.
Week 10 Packers @ Chargers
- Wager 1 - First Quarter - Packers up by .5 : $ 25.00 [ +110 ] L
- Wager 2 - Chargers Total Points - Under 21.5 : $ 20.00 [ -120 ] L
- Wager 3 - Highest score - 2nd half & OT : $ 30.00 [ -105 ] W $28.57
- Wager 4 - Longest TD - Under 41.5 yards : $ 25.00 [ -115 ] W $ 21.74
TOTAL PROFIT: $ 5.31
Well, he was both right and wrong last week. It was indeed a more defensive game than most were predicting, but the Packers never really got anything going. It was a pleasant surprise to see the Chargers dominating the first half of the game (even without the points to show for it). For his lack of faith, he only pockets a $5.31 profit from last week. A simple Chargers moneyline bet would have had him singing in the streets!
But you know our friend—he’s never disappointed by a positive-income week. He’ll take it!
Let’s see what he’s leaning towards for Thusday’s match.
Week 10 Chargers @ Raiders
- Wager 1 - Chargers First half - Up .5 : $ 50.00 [ +105 ] Possible win: $ 52.50
- Wager 2 - Raiders First Score - Field Goal : $ 50.00 [ +145 ] Possible win: $ 72.50
TOTAL POSSIBLE WIN: $125.00
WELL THEN! I guess that’s that. He’s expecting a Chargers.... win? Essentially, if we are to glean any wisdom from his bets, he wanted positive value and took it wherever he could find it. It looks like defense might again lead the day, which is not unusual for this Chargers team. However, it is possible that it becomes a shoot-out (at least for the second half), and our gambling friend is leaning on what he thinks are the safest positive-value bets.
The spread is -1.5 on the Chargers, but you’ll also sink [-110] on that line. It might be safer to go moneyline at [-125], but then again... maybe the field goal bet isn’t so bad after all!
Go Chargers!
