Chargers vs. Chiefs Monday Night Football open thread

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight, the Los Angeles Chargers (4-6) will face the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs (6-4) in Mexico City. This represents an opportunity for the Bolts to claw within one game of 1st place in the division. It’s also an opportunity for Philip Rivers to bounce back after last week’s execrable outing against the Oakland Raiders.

Unfortunately, the Chargers will be trying to beat their division rivals without the services of their starting offensive tackles. Both Russell Okung and Sam Tevi are inactive for tonight’s contest, and in their place are the barely rosterable Trent Scott and Trey Pipkins. Both replacements need help on most snaps and it will be rather tricky for offensive coordinator Shane Steichen to determine who gets that help and how often.

On the Chiefs side of things, they are well positioned to start pulling away from the rest of the division with a win in Mexico. They are easily the most talented and best-coached team in the AFC West and they can effectively eliminate the Chargers today leaving on the Raiders to be dealt with.
