Chargers cornerback Craig Mager missed practice every day in the lead up to Week 2 with what was listed as a hamstring injury. Well it appears to be pretty serious, as the team has now placed him on Injured/Reserve, either ending his season or keeping him off-the-field for a minimum of eight weeks.

Mager has never really developed into a good corner, but he is a pretty serviceable special teams player. Someone is going to have to step up as a gunner to replace him.
As far as the corresponding roster move, the team has brought up UDFA rookie Trent Scott to be the backup Tackle while Joe Barksdale is out. Scott, like the other rookie offensive linemen this preseason, never really stood out in a good way, however he is familiar with the system and is an easy plug-n-play backup while the team learns the extent of Barksdale’s injury.
This all but ensures that Sam Tevi will be the starting RT on Sunday as Scott is not being brought up to start over him.
