As Jamie Hoyle mentioned yesterday, rookie wide receiver Dylan Cantrell injured his knee during a Los Angeles Chargers Training Camp practice. At the time, we had no indication of what kind of time he would miss, but ESPN’s Eric Williams reported via Twitter this morning that he will be out indefinitely:

This is still not a real timeline, but it is also not good news for the rookie receiver who had been by some accounts the MVP of Chargers camp. There is a lot of competition at receiver behind Keenan Allen on the depth chart and missing time is not going to help the Texas Tech product in making his case for being part of the 53-man roster come the end of NFL preseason. Hopefully, he will be back soon and will pick up where he left off because Dylan Cantrell was certainly an early bright spot and as a Chargers fan you have to hope he beats out the likes of Artavis Scott and Geremy Davis.
