Following the Los Angeles Chargers blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints, second-year head coach Anthony Lynn was asked during his post-game press conference about Joey Bosa’s availability for week 1 of the NFL regular season. On August 7, the Chargers superstar defender left practice with an injury to his left foot and has not practiced or played since.
In somewhat of a surprise, Lynn stated that Bosa would be ready to play week 1. He added that Bosa could have played tonight had it been a regular season game. This is certainly fantastic news for the Chargers and decidedly bad news for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense.
Hopefully, this is all true and Bosa will actually be 100% when the regular season kicks off. The defense is simply not the same without its pass rushing duo of Bosa and Ingram at full strength and they will need that pass rush if Casey Hayward and/or Trevor Williams still can’t go when KC comes to town.
