During a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Jacksonville cornerback Jalen Ramsey let it all hang out as the superstar defender was asked his opinion on topics ranging from the recent NFL draft to Colin Kaepernick and the ongoing “anthem protests”.
However, the majority of the article was spent on the league’s quarterbacks. To begin, Ramsey rattled off his thoughts on the rookie quarterbacks, namely calling Josh Allen “trash” multiple times. In his personal opinion, he didn’t understand how Lamar Jackson was the fifth QB taken when he believes “Baker compares better with Lamar”.
The second question of the interview was simply “Who are the quarterbacks, in your opinion, who don’t suck?” because the list for the ones who suck would have been much too long.
Ramsey’s answers were fairly lengthy so I’ll do my best to sum this up:
Aaron Rodgers does not.
Tom Brady doesn’t.
Tyrod Taylor doesn’t get enough credit.
Marcus Mariota manages games well.
Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz will split MVP awards for the next five to ten years.
Jared Goff is average to above average.
Kirk Cousins is good and “a winner”.
During a rapid-fire session where the interviewer just spouted off QBs, it wasn’t until Ramsey was specifically asked about Ryan Tannehill that the Bolt’s signal-caller was thrusted into Ramsey’s mind.
“Philip Rivers, I think he’s pretty good.”
That’s it. That’s all Jalen had to say about the Charger’s QB which, in this situation, should be considered a “win”.
Rivers posted the seventh-highest passing yards against the Jaguars in 2017 with 235 and a pair of touchdowns in a close, but losing, effort.
