Over/Under: Keenan Allen’s Receiving Yards and Touchdowns

Allen is just entering his prime after a stellar 2017 season. Will he take a step back, repeat, or take his game to another level?

NFL: Pro Bowl-NFC vs AFC Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

During the first half of the 2015 season prior to his season-ending injury, the Keenan Allen we all laid witness to was some thing else. It took one game for him to set the franchise-record for catches in a game at 15. It culminated in a masterful performance that ignited a comeback against the Detroit Lions on their home turf.

In 2016, he had six catches for 63 yards in the the first half against the Chiefs before the turf monster took another year out of his young career.

After what felt like an eternity without Allen on the field, he seemingly returned with a chip on his shoulder that rivaled the size of the the new stadium being built in nearby Inglewood. This past season, our patience was rewarded as Allen put together one of the greatest seasons by a Chargers wide receiver in recent memory.

102 catches, 1,393 yards, and six touchdowns later, Allen has firmly planted himself in the conversation as a top wideout in the NFL. But can he put together back-to-back elite seasons for the first time in his career? This looks to be as good a time as ever for the North Carolina-native to get it done.

The fine fellows at BetOnline.AG have also just released their over/unders for the 2018 NFL season and Allen’s current numbers are as follows:

Receiving Yards: Over/Under 1,300
Total Touchdowns: Over/Under 6.5

Based on these numbers, they must be fairly optimistic that Allen can repeat his performance through the air, once again. It won’t be surprising to see an uptick in targets for Allen this year as his biggest threat to his massive target-share, Hunter Henry, is unfortunately lost for the season.

Do you think Allen is in-line for another phenomenal year? Or will he find himself regressing to the mean? Which Over/Under do you guys feel most comfortable about? Let us know in the comment section and in the poll below.
