LaDainian Tomlinson and Daniel Jeremiah Join Chargers Broadcast

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers announced today via Twitter that Daniel Jeremiah, Mario Solis, and Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson will join Chargers broadcast teams:

This announcement comes in the wake of Dan Fouts insisting in an interview that he should not be referred to as a Los Angeles Charger given that he played his entire career in San Diego. Given the overly sensitive nature of Chargers ownership it is not at all surprising to see that he has been replaced for Chargers preseason games (the team is only responsible for fielding its own television broadcast team during the preseason; Fouts will likely still call a few Chargers games during the regular season as part of CBS’ broadcast crew).

Tomlinson will join Spero Dedes to call Chargers’ preseason contests in August (on the 11th, 18th, and 30th).

On the radio side of things, Daniel Jeremiah will replaced recently resigned Nick Hardwick as the color analyst alongside Matt Smith on play-by-play. Jeremiah is most likely familiar to you thanks to his work on NFL Network, but he also played collegiate football at Appalachian State.

Finally, Mario Solis will join the Spanish language broadcast handling play-by-play. He will work next to Jorge Villanueva who will be moving to color commentary.
