Early Monday, the Chargers signed two of the 13 non-contract participants invited to rookie minicamp. After the whistle blew on the third day of practice, the Bolts handed contracts out to WR Jessie Liggins and DE Patrick Afriyie.

Liggins is a 6-foot-1, 209-pound wide receiver that starred at Stephen F. Austin from 2013-16. During his final year in college, Liggins hauled in 49 passes for 641 yards and three touchdowns. For his career, Liggins totaled 102 catches for 1,116 yards to go along with eight touchdowns. Most recently, Liggins spent time with the Colts prior to the 2017 season before being waived before the regular season. After signing a reserve/future contract in January, he was waived once more to start the month.

Afriyie, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive end, comes to the Chargers after he went undrafted out of Colgate University. After collecting 152 total tackles, 49.5 for loss, and 26.5 sacks over his career, he left Colgate ranked second in school history in sacks and finished seventh overall in Patriot League history.
