Chargers Work Out William & Mary OL Chris Durant

Chargers workout the former Tribe member at his high-school on Wednesday

The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson recently broke news of the Chargers working out former William & Mary left tackle Chris Durant at his high-school’s campus on Wednesday.

Durant, a 6-foot-4. 300-pound offensive tackle from Oak Hill, Virginia, has been the Tribe’s starting left tackle for the last four years. After starting seven games his freshmen year, Durant started 23 straight games during the 2015 and ‘16 season before appearing and starting in just six games his final year on campus. He was named a third-team All-CAA selection three straight times to finish his career.

Of the 18 teams in attendance at William & Mary’s pro day, the Chargers were not one of them.

It seems like the Bolts are doing a ton of research on offensive tackles that are predicted to be either day 3 selections of undrafted free agents come draft time. If anything, this may indicate that they hope to spend their high draft picks on other positions while looking to find a diamond in the rough among the tackle group.
