Chargers vs. Ravens playoff odds 2019: Betting lines and opening spread for the wild card round

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Los Angeles Chargers Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

After losing 22-10 at home to the Baltimore Ravens, the Los Angeles Chargers have opened as 3-point road underdogs for the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. Somewhat surprisingly, the early money seems to be on the Chargers.

Perhaps people were impressed by the Chargers’ week 17 road win against the Denver Broncos or they think the Cleveland Browns showed how to beat the Ravens’ defense even in defeat. Or maybe people are simply noticing that the Chargers won all four rematches they played this year. Either way, this matchup is being treated as essentially a pick-em with the entirety of the line coming from the Ravens’ home field advantage.

The over/under for the game is set at 42 or 41.5 depending on your source, so the bookmakers are anticipating a relatively lower scoring game which seems reasonable given the 32-point total from their prior head-to-head matchup. If anything, that seems a little high given the relative quality of the two offenses and defenses involved.
