After authoring the most accurate performance by a quarterback in NFL history, Philip Rivers landed himself on the Team of the Week presented by Pro Football Focus, which is announced following each week of the regular season.

He was also joined on the team by Keenan Allen as his most reliable target graded out at an elite mark of 91.1, good for the highest grade on the entire team from their contest against the Arizona Cardinals.

Oddly enough, Rivers record-setting performance was apparently not good enough to warrant an elite grade by the website. His grade of 86.4 is still well above average but you should always take these grades with a grain of salt.

Rivers completed 25-straight passes to start the game before a pass fell incomplete in the middle of the third quarter. He finished the game with 28 completions on 29 attempts for a 96.6 completion percentage, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Allen joined on the theme of “perfection” as he caught all seven of his targets on the day for 72 yards and an impressive toe-tapping touchdown catch that helped Rivers achieve his historic mark.
