Kickoff is in a little over an hour and we now have the list of Chargers inactives. One of the more interesting notes is who is not on the list: Forrest Lamp. The Chargers’ second-year offensive lineman is finally active for a regular season NFL game, and thanks to some of the other names on the inactives list, he may be on the field:
Our #OAKvsLAC inactives:
— Los Angeles Chargers (@Chargers) October 7, 2018
WR Travis Benjamin
LB Kyzir White
C Cole Toner
RT Joe Barksdale
LT Russell Okung
WR J.J. Jones
DE Joey Bosa
At this point in time, we already knew Joey Bosa would be out through the bye week, so that’s not news. Travis Benjamin has been largely useless even when on the field, so his absence doesn’t hurt too much. Kyzir White has been one of the better coverage linebackers we have seen in a Chargers uniform, so it will be tough for Gus Bradley to make up for his being out.
Both starting offensive tackles are going to miss the game, and that’s presumably part of why Lamp is active. Joe Barksdale has not played yet this year, but Russell Okung being sidelined is not good news for the offense and Philip Rivers. Thankfully, Khalil Mack is a Chicago Bear and not an Oakland Raider.
