Back with another victory podcast. These are fun. This one was a roller-coaster. There was plenty to take away from this. Not all good. We actually start out with a question asking what’s going on with Case Hayward. I think it’s as simple as he’s not making plays. He was lucky that Corey Davis dropped a pass on a key third down. It’s pretty clear that the defense is going to have to rely on turnovers and hold teams to field goals.
A lot of hope with Austin Ekeler in this one with not a lot of production. To me, it didn’t seem like the offense game-planned for Ekeler to be the lead back. Didn’t seem like there were any adjustments. It’s clear that the team missed Melvin Gordon. They were not prepared to play without him and it showed.
I think the Titans offense had a good game-plan. Keep the ball out of Rivers hands. They had five drives of seven or more plays. The Chargers didn’t do themselves any favors by missing tackles. They had to have missed 15 tackles as a team. It was rough.
We go through the game, answer questions, and bounce around from the topics at hand during the game.
Part two of this me breaking down the final handful of plays from the game Sunday. The defense missed a billion tackles. There was some good individual play, but as a unit, there were plenty of mistakes. Adrian Phillips found a way to make a play. That’s what matters. Check it out, too.
