The Los Angeles Chargers have traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to take on the Tennessee Titans in their final game before their bye week. They are looking at having a chance to be sitting at 5-2 as they rest up in week 8. 5-2 and would certainly feel quite a bit different from 4-3 and would position them far better to make a run for the playoffs. This morning’s game should have a significant impact on the team’s ability to play postseason football this season.
Unfortunately, the Chargers will be without Melvin Gordon after he pulled up with a hamstring injury on Friday. Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson, and recently signed Detrez Newsome will try to fill the void created by his absence. Ekeler has been Pro Football Focus’ top-graded running back this season and should be expected to get the majority of today’s running back snaps.
It may not matter too much who is lined up behind Philip Rivers with the way he has been playing this year. The veteran signal caller has been lights out through the season’s first six weeks and there is little reason to expect that should stop today.
