Melvin Gordon had himself a productive day against the Cleveland Browns after the fourth-year back put together one of the best rushing performances of his career. Thanks to his 132 rushing yards and three touchdowns, Gordon was nominated with two other backs for the weekly FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award.
Gordon’s performance on Sunday notched the very first time he has ever scored three rushing touchdowns in one game.
To top it all off, Sunday’s contest was also the highest-graded game of Gordon’s career with an elite 90.4, according to Pro Football Focus.
Melvin Gordon averaged 7.3 YPA vs CLV. Eight of these rushes converted 1st downs, and 6 of them went for 10+ yards, second to Gurley.

Gordon was also second in the league during week 6 with an average 5.72 yards after contact, behind only the Chiefs’ Kareem Hunt.

Gordon faces some stuff competition for the award as the Rams’ Todd Gurley and the Vikings’ Latavius Murray were also nominated for their stellar performances.
Gurley was unstoppable against the Denver Broncos has he received a whopping 28 carries which he turned in 208 yards and a pair of scores.
Murray showed out in place of the injured Dalvin Cook to the tune of 155 yards on 24 carries with a single touchdown.
