Sources tell The Star that the Chiefs have reached an agreement to trade Alex Smith to Washington. The story: https://t.co/vlNuGMAlVS— Terez A. Paylor (@TerezPaylor) January 31, 2018
It is reported that the Chiefs have acquired a third-round draft pick and Kendall Fuller.
Since Alex Smith’s tenure with the Chiefs, they have gone 8-2 vs The Chargers in head to head play, as well as winning their last eight (EIGHT!) games against the Bolts.
Alex Smith and the Chiefs have been perennial playoff contenders since Alex and Andy Reid joined forces, winning the AFC West each of the last two seasons.
Although unexpected, the move makes plenty of sense after the Chiefs traded two first-round draft picks and a third-round draft pick to acquire Texas Tech star Patrick Mahomes just last year.
Chargers fans can expect a more dynamic Chiefs offense for years to come.
